The following minimum qualifications are required for Sheriff's Sergeant:

  • Fours years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience, at least two of which was obtained as a Deputy Sheriff II with the Placer County Sheriff's Office.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade or GED.
  • Possession of a Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Certificate.
  • Be eligible to obtain a POST Supervisory Certificate within two years from date of appointment.
