This is the supplemental questionnaire for the classification of Waste Management Operations Superintendent. Part I will not be scored or used for determining minimum qualifications but is provided for the applicant to review prior to completing the questionnaire and may also be used when determining assignment.  Part II will be scored based on your checked responses. Narratives provided by applicants describing training and/or experience will not be scored but will be available to the hiring authority and may be utilized for interview and selection determinations.

Part I: Minimum Qualifications – Not Scored

Do you possess at least three years of increasingly responsible professional experience in solid waste maintenance, construction, and operations including two years of supervisory responsibility.

Do you possess the equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business or public administration, safety and industrial engineering, environmental science, planning and/or management, or a related field.

Applicants who reported a “No” response to any of the above are encouraged to review the minimum qualifications for this classification prior to proceeding.

Part II: Relevant Knowledge and Experience – Scored Examination

This section of the supplemental questionnaire is the Civil Service examination for this position. This supplemental questionnaire will be scored based on your checked responses below. Narratives provided by applicants describing training and/or experience will not be scored, but will be available to the hiring authority and may be utilized for interview and selection determination. Scores received from this section will determine applicant ranking and placement on the eligible list.

Do you have experience researching solutions and resolving issues with your internal and external customers and contractors?

Do you have experience directing, overseeing, and participating in environmental and regulatory compliance monitoring and report writing?

Do you have experience preparing and presenting technical and administrative reports to elected Boards, commissions, members of the public, etc.?
