This is the supplemental questionnaire for the classification of Senior Planner. Part I will not be scored or used for determining minimum qualifications but is provided for the applicant to review prior to completing the questionnaire. Part II will be scored based on your checked responses using a pre-determined formula. Part III will not be scored but may be used by the hiring department when determining assignment.

Placer County Conservation Program position

The position with the Placer County Conservation Program will be responsible for coordination and review of land use entitlement applications for consistency with Program requirements; supporting, collaborating and developing state, federal and non-profit grant proposals to fund Program related land acquisitions, scientific studies, and habitat restoration projects; monitoring and reporting on grant funding implementation; using geospatial technology to analyze land use conditions in conjunction with County staff and outside local agencies; and preparing budgets and assisting in budget implementation, forecasts, and staffing, equipment, and supplies/materials administration.

Please provide a written summary of your experience with the preparation and implementation of long range land use or natural resource management plans. In addition, please describe your experience working with state and federal natural resource management and/or regulatory agencies (e.g., U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife), and non-governmental organizations focused on land conservation (e.g., land trusts).

2.

Please provide a written summary of your experience preparing and managing state, federal, or non-profit grant application proposals including but not limited to open space acquisition, habitat restoration, and scientific research funding.


 

Community Development Resource Agency – Tahoe position

The position with Community Development Resource Agency located in the Tahoe office be responsible for the coordination and review of land use entitlement applications for consistency with the Placer County Zoning Ordinance, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Code of Ordinance, and all applicable Area Plans, Community Plans and Specific Plans for those areas in eastern Placer County. Application types range from residential permits, design site reviews and sign permits, to variances, use Permits and CEQA environmental review, up to and including, environmental impact reports. In addition, and under the County’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), the incumbent will review and issue residential permits and TRPA property verifications under TRPA’s Code of Ordinance/regulations.
