Supplemental Questionnaire

This is the supplemental questionnaire for the classification of Engineer - Assistant. Part I will not be scored nor used for determining minimum qualifications but is provided for the applicant to review prior to completing the questionnaire and may also be used when determining assignment.  Part II will be scored based on your checked responses.  Narratives provided by applicants describing training and/or experience will not be scored but will be available to the hiring authority and may be utilized for interview and selection determinations.

Part I: Minimum Qualifications

This section will not be scored but may assist with determining how the applicant reports meeting the minimum qualifications for this position as well as departmental assignment preferences.  

Do you have two years of responsible professional experience performing engineering work in the office and/or in the field related to civil engineering projects?

Do you possess the equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field?

Do you possess an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate? This certificate is issued by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists. For more information, you can click HERE.

Applicants who reported a “No” response to any of the above are encouraged to review the minimum qualifications for this classification prior to proceeding.

Part II: Relevant Knowledge and Experience – Scored Examination

This section of the supplemental questionnaire is the Civil Service examination for this position. This supplemental questionnaire will be scored based on your checked responses below. Narratives provided by applicants describing training and/or experience will not be scored, but will be available to the hiring authority and may be utilized for interview and selection determination. Scores received from this section will determine applicant ranking and placement on the eligible list.
