The current permanent, full-time vacancy is with Health and Human Services in scenic North Lake Tahoe in our Carnelian Bay office. Primary job duties include: general reception duties, greeting customers, answering phones and routing calls, receiving applications, scanning and indexing, reviewing documents for completion, and other general administrative tasks that require front line customer service skills.
Bilingual Spanish/English speaking candidates are highly desirable for this current vacancy. Upon successfully completing the pre-employment process and accepting a formal offer of hire, applicants who indicated a bilingual proficiency must receive a passing score from Placer County's Foreign Language Assessment and be assigned to provide bilingual services in order to receive the additional 5% Bilingual pay.
This position is eligible for the Tahoe Branch Assignment Premium (*Salary plus additional $825 per month Tahoe Branch Assignment Premium for employees who demonstrate and certify residency in the Tahoe basin. Please note, effective July 6th, 2019, the Tahoe Branch Assignment Premium will be increased to $875 per month).
There is also currently a temporary/extra-help vacancy within the Community Development Resource Agency in their Tahoe City office.
Employees will receive a 2% general wage increase effective June 8, 2019.
Extra Help/Temporary positions are limited to 999 hours per fiscal year (960 CalPERS retired annuitants). There are currently no permanent positions available.
To perform a wide variety of general clerical and routine secretarial duties related to the function and department assigned.
This is the full journey level class in the Administrative Clerk series and is distinguished from the Administrative Clerk - Entry level by the ability to perform the full range of duties assigned with only occasional instruction or assistance as unusual or unique situations arise. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Administrative Clerk - Entry level.
Receives general supervision from management, professional or supervisory personnel, and may receive technical and functional supervision from secretarial or higher level clerical personnel.

Experience: Two years of experience performing duties comparable to that of an Administrative Clerk - Entry for Placer County.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

The written examination for this recruitment is tentatively planned for Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 in the Tahoe/Truckee Area (weather permitting).
The eligible list(s) resulting from this recruitment may be certified as a substitute list for a substantially similar classification.
