The Assistant Superintendent level recognizes positions that provide full second-line, supervision to employees within a division and/or assume substantive and significant administrative responsibility in several defined areas or specialties.
Receives administrative direction from the Building Maintenance Superintendent, or management designee.
Exercises direct supervision over supervisory, building maintenance, custodial and administrative support personnel.
Experience and Training
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in building trades, construction management, or facilities management, including at least three years of supervisory/management responsibility.
Training: Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in construction technology, engineering, architecture, facilities maintenance or a related field.
Required License or Certificate:
May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
