POSITION DESCRIPTION
Outreach Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY
The Outreach Coordinator assists in coordinating and facilitating external strategic communications and outreach for the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) related to the agency’s activities and accomplishments. The outreach coordinator works under the Director of Public Information and Outreach and team to implement outreach plans that assure effective communication of the agency’s mission, programs and priorities to key stakeholders, the public, potential grant applicants and current grantees and contractors.

Job performance will be evaluated by the Director of Public Information and Outreach.

GOALS AND WORKER ACTIVITIES

•Assists in the development and implementation of a strategic outreach plan that leverages TSET programs, subject matter expertise and programmatic outcomes for increased awareness and knowledge about TSET’s programs and impact.
•Maintains a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, conferences and other communication opportunities.
•Schedules meetings and events with partners, stakeholders and the public to meet TSET’s strategic outreach goals.
•Nurtures new and maintains existing relationships with collaborative partners.
•Researches and cultivates new partners and potential grantees.
•Represents the agency at public events and in meetings with partners and the public.
•Maintains positive relationships with a variety of groups to support overall goals of TSET and strategic communications plan to educate key audiences on TSET’s work and impact.
•Assists in the planning and execution of special events.
•Builds or enhances relationships within various sectors of the state and seeks opportunities to disseminate information about TSET programs, services and outcomes.
•Summarizes and reports on outreach activities to the Board of Directors and other TSET staff.
•Helps to manage projects and contributes to departmental organization and efficiency
•Develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
•Assists in ensuring agency work product and practices meet high standards and assists in opportunities for growth and refinement to agency practices, procedures and communication efforts to uphold high standards for transparency and accountability.
•Works with Public Information Department to support efforts by TSET to educate on the benefits of evidence-based policy changes.
•Other duties as identified and assigned by the Director of Public Information.

TSET staff are based in Oklahoma and currently work remotely several days per week in a paperless environment. Successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

•Experience with state and local advocacy is preferred, but not required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The Outreach Coordinator must have a combination of education and experience necessary to fulfill the responsibilities and expectations contained in this position description. At a minimum, a candidate for the Outreach Coordinator must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, preferably in public relations, communications, marketing, business, political science or related fields and two years of relevant job or volunteer experience.
