OSDH is seeking a full time Programs Manager II providing support to the Cleveland County Health Department with the Oklahoma State Department of Health. This is a state employee position PIN 34004305 governed by the Civil Service Rules, in state government located in Norman, Oklahoma. The annual salary for this position is up to $60,000.00, based on education and experience.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Community Engagement and Health Planning Manager, this position works to create programs, through collaboration with community partners, to be offered at The Cleveland County Wellness Square. As such, this position attends external meetings, coalitions and events in an effort to build and maintain positive relationships with the community.

Position Responsibilities /Essential Functions:
•Actively recruit healthy-living focused organizations to utilize the facility for the purpose of enhancing its positive health impact on the community.
•Schedule daily use of facilities within the parameters set forth by the Cleveland County Health Department in collaboration with Cleveland County.
•Present information to community partners and stakeholders regarding The Wellness Square’s programs, activities, and community education opportunities.
•Research and implement new community programs for The Wellness Square.
•Ensure that programs and activities align with the Cleveland County Health Improvement Plan and address social determinants of health.
•Identify potential community partners and build lasting reciprocal relationships.
•Schedule, implement, and suggest new community-based programs, grants, and partnerships.
•Assist with health assessment and grant writing as needed.
•The above duties and responsibilities are performed with minimal oversight. This position has the discretion to work directly with outside partners to ensure the timely execution and completion of goals.

Required at this level include knowledge of agency policy; of state and federal regulations relevant to agency programs; of sound methods of administration; of methods of management and planning and of supervisory principles and practices.  Ability is required to administer programs and supervise personnel; to maintain effective working relationships with others; and to exercise good judgment in the solution of problems.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position is set in an office environment.  While performing the duties of the job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach.  Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position.


Required at this level consists of a master’s degree and two years of professional supervisory, managerial, consultative or administrative experience in public health administration, social work, child support, adult protective services, child welfare, early childhood development and education, guidance and counseling, nursing, developmental disabilities, probation and parole, employment services, public administration, community-based prevention and diversionary youth services programs, juvenile justice, rehabilitation or disability services or counseling, or vocational evaluation or vocational rehabilitation, experience in instructing/directing a community service or recreational program or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional level experience in the above listed areas for each year of the required education.  

NOTE: No substitution will be allowed for the required professional supervisory, managerial, consultative, or administrative experience.
