These two (2) vacancies are located in the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (Investigative Services Division) at OSBI Headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK.
LEVEL III – $61,044.00 ($59,124.00 base salary, plus $160/month for on-call pay)
LEVEL II – $55,118.00 ($53,198.00 base salary, plus $160/month for on-call pay)
LEVEL I – $51,000.00 ($49,080.00 base salary, plus $160/month for on-call pay)
MAJOR WORK DUTIES:
1. Performs field forensic previews of computers, cell phones, and other items of digital evidence in criminal investigations. Full cell phone examinations in an office environment.
2. Issues report of findings and testifies in court as an expert witness.
3. Receives, manages, and returns evidence associated with cases submitted for forensic analysis. Ensures that the integrity of the evidence is protected by following standard procedures and evidence handling policies.
4. Maintains forensic computer systems and software. Maintains related assigned equipment and any certifications or special qualifications.
Successful applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (commissioned positions only), and a thorough background investigation. Certain events automatically disqualify an applicant, such as, felony conviction; admission of an undetected crime that, if known, would have been a felony charge; failure to pay federal or state income tax; positive confirmed drug urine test; illegal use of a controlled substance within certain time frames.
Level I – Education and Experience requirements at this level include a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, crime and intelligence analysis, sociology, or a closely-related field of study; or an equivalent substitution of experience with a law enforcement agency or military law enforcement unit performing technical tasks (e.g., conducting research, reviewing information to identify and collect relevant information, creating reports, using computer systems and law enforcement databases to collect and analyze information specific to assigned task).
Level II – Requirements at this level consist of those specified for Level I, plus two years of professional experience in conducting investigative case support or criminal intelligence analysis for a law enforcement agency.
Level III – Requirements at this level consist of those specified for Level II, plus two additional years of professional experience in conducting investigative case support or criminal intelligence analysis for a law enforcement agency.
Applicants with a Bachelors in computer/digital forensic science will be given preference in this selection process.
