Overview
The Legislative Office of Fiscal Transparency (LOFT) assists the Oklahoma State Legislature by providing information essential to policymaking. LOFT is charged with ensuring state-funded programs are efficient, effective, and transparent. LOFT conducts multi-faceted evaluations of public expenditures and provides comprehensive, non-partisan, and objective analysis to the Oklahoma State Legislature.

The ideal candidate for this position will be intellectually curious, solution-oriented, have experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, an ability to provide fiscal analysis and clearly explain methodology and considerations for publication.

Desired skillsets include demonstrated experience in applying accounting principles and public finance. Additionally, knowledge of performance-based budgeting, public policy and budget analysis, governmental accounting, finance, spreadsheet and database applications, and statistical and mathematical procedures such as cost-benefit analysis is desirable. Strong technical skills including proficiency in Excel and SPSS. A minimum 5 years’ practical experience in finance or accounting field required.

Primary Responsibilities:
The role of a Fiscal Analyst is to objectively determine whether taxpayer expenditures are producing desired results and to recommend improvements to Oklahoma state government. In this position, analysts are responsible for examining state agency budgets, conducting critical analysis, and developing forecasts as needed.

A Fiscal Analyst will:
- Evaluate and analyze fiscal data, including revenues and expenditures,
- Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and effectiveness of programs,
- Provide analysis of programmatic work by state agencies,
- Review agency budgets, funding requests, and determine fiscal impact of initiatives.
