This position is located in Division 9/District 4, Oklahoma County.

Salary:  $52,600.00

Job Duties
The candidate is responsible to provide audiovisual expertise in the production and distribution of media related to internal and external communication, including, but not limited to podcasts, public service announcements, press events, commission meetings and training related to the Transportation Cabinet and partners. This includes consulting content experts, generating creative concepts, researching information, writing scripts, and implementing audiovisual production techniques to deliver a clear and concise message.

Basic Purpose
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving the production of videos for use in employee training programs and/or to provide information to the public.  This includes writing and editing scripts, researching information and materials, providing audio and video support for agency related events, and shooting, producing and editing videos to meet established goals and objectives.

Typical Functions
•Determines training objectives for various topics or purposes and develops plans for meeting objectives; researches information and materials related to the topic or purpose.
•Writes, edits and rewrites scripts, lesson plans and other materials; confers with agency officials and others to insure that materials support objectives.
•Plans, organizes and directs audio and video recordings; makes decisions concerning production, such as site location, talent and camera positions; performs computerized professional editing to include narration, music selection, computer graphics and video footage.
•Operates a variety of audiovisual equipment, such as cameras, lighting/sound equipment, industrial video recorders, computerized editors, special effects generators, and duplication equipment.
•Determines operating needs of the video section; prepares requisitions for supplies and equipment.

This is the career level of this job family where employees are assigned responsibilities at the full performance level for development and completion of assigned projects, including design, content and production, post-production and delivery.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of audiovisual production methods and techniques and equipment; of the principles of adult education and training; of techniques for researching and gathering information for scripts; of techniques for dissemination of information; and of the principles and techniques for editing and composition of scripts. Ability is required to research, write and edit scripts for training videos; to communicate effectively; and to plan, write and complete video production projects.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Optional):
A heavy emphasis is placed on all aspects of audiovisual production. This position requires working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with various video cameras, DSLRs, camera support, lighting, and audio equipment. 3D modeling software such as Maya and Cinema 4D is a plus. (Optional): transportation personnel in those environments. Physical requirements: the ability to walk and carry equipment over rough terrain and lift 50 lbs. overhead. A 'Physical Ability Demonstration(PAD)' is required for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelors degree in mass communications, journalism, or a closely related field plus two additional years of qualifying experience in video production;  or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one additional year of experience in video production or video script writing for each year of the required education plus two additional years of qualifying experience in video production.
