OTRD is seeking a full-time unclassified Groundskeeper II to maintain the grounds at Grand Cherokee Golf Course in Lone Wolf, OK. OTRD offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents. The annual salary for this position is $27,500.

Under immediate to general supervision, performs gardening, tree and lawn care and/or greenhouse work.

*Supervises, as working leader, crew(s) engaged in landscape activities, such as the laying out, planting and maintenance of lawns, flower beds, shrubs and trees.
*Maintains necessary records of time, materials, supplies and work performed.
*Fertilizes and applies insecticides, herbicides and fungicides for pest control on trees, lawns, gardens and/or greenhouse plants.
*Loads and transports soil and fertilizers; cultivates and weeds soil for gardens or lawns; levels and seeds new lawns.
*Mows and trims grass with hang and power mowers; operates trucks and tractors; services and makes minor repairs to equipment.
*Seeds, sods or plants greens and grounds; maintains traps, hazards and roughs.
*Supervises and participated in the fertilizing, planting and cutting of grass and turf.
*Instructs laborers in gardening, lawn care and/or greenhouse work.
*May also perform greenhouse duties as required:  plants seeds in flats, transplants seedlings; sterilizes and changes soil in greenhouse beds; cuts, arranges and delivers flowers and pitter plants for institutional buildings and offices.
*Performs related work as required and assigned.

Knowledge of lawn care and gardening methods, such as planting, pruning and spraying; of the use of machines, tools and materials in lawn care and gardening; of greenhouse and nursery techniques; of the care of turf; and of the various plant diseases and their control.

Skill in operation equipment, tools and materials used in plant and lawn care; and in following oral and written instructions.


Two (2) years of experience in gardening, lawn care or greenhouse work:  OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Preplacement Testing:  Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
