Position Title: Assistant District Attorney 
 
Location: Pittsburg County (McAlester, OK) 
 
Status: Full-time, Immediate Opening 
 
Salary: Commensurate with Experience. 
 
Summary:
The 18th Prosecutorial District for Pittsburg and Haskell Counties is seeking a fulltime Assistant District Attorney for the Pittsburg County Office to begin immediately.  District 18 has received a federal grant for the specific purpose employing a prosecutor who will specialize in domestic violence prosecution and sex crimes committed against women.  While the position requires a focus on domestic violence and sex crimes, the prosecutor will also be responsible for violent crimes committed against women by their domestic partners or former domestic partners, such as kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous or deadly weapon, and other crimes of this nature.  Because a portion of the salary will be funded from sources other than the VAWA Grant, the prosecutor will have the opportunity to handle other types of crimes, as well.
 
Prior prosecutorial experience is preferred but not required.
