Introduction

ANNUAL SALARY: $60,000.00
LOCATION OF WORK: Oil & Gas Conservation Division, UIC, JTB

MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Performs professional geological, hydrological and/or engineering duties involving the enforcement of federal laws and Commission rules regarding oil and gas exploration and production and the underground disposal of related waste products and the injection of fluids to enhance recovery of oil and gas.

• Required to analyze geological and hydrological maps and reports; interpret engineering data and reports; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

• Reviews applications, permits inspection reports, test results, water sample analysis and other documents in order to determine compliance with Commission rules and federal laws associated with administration of the Underground Injection Control program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree in geology, geography, hydrology, environmental science, engineering or a closely related field. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:  Applicants must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.  Ability to review legal and administrative applications and pollution remediation plans, plus two years in oil and gas regulation.
