Location: Oklahoma School for the Blind – Muskogee
Essential Functions:
Position is a representative for OSB on professional committees, organizations, staffing’s or IEP’s at local educational agencies and present material or information concerning students with visual impairments to interested parent groups, educational groups, or civic groups. Position provides resources, consultative, direct, and indirect services to children with blindness/visual impairment upon request by local education agencies and families. Conduct functional vision learning media assessments and/or environmental assessments and provide written reports regarding best educational approach, learning mediums, equipment and other services needed by students. Travel long distances across the state, with some overnight stays on occasion. Maintain travel logs, daily documentation, google calendar, and student information for weekly and monthly outreach report.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience in community service programs serving blind and visually impaired individuals; in the methods of technology of providing services and the legal and ethical issues related to the services. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with agencies, school districts, organizations, and the general public and to communicate with the blind and visually impaired children.
Salary:
Annual salary range is commensurate with education and years of experience. Salary ranges $36,601.00 (Bachelor’s Degree) - $51,971.00 (Master’s Degree). Employees are provided paid health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the State’s tax-deferred annuity program. This will be a 180-day per year, contracted position.

State of Oklahoma Teacher’s certificate or qualifications to meet certification and Orientation & Mobility certification.
