Location: Oklahoma School for the Deaf- Sulphur
Salary:
Annual salary is commensurate with education and years of experience; Bachelor’s degree: $38,431.05 to $52,551.45. Master’s degree: $41,106.45 to $55,810.64. Employees are provided paid health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the State’s tax-deferred annuity program.
Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for providing learning experiences by utilizing School curriculum, IEP goals and objective and other appropriate materials and activities. Duties include preparing lesson plans, reports and keeping records of student behavior and attitude needed to provide an orderly productive classroom environment; ascertain learning needs of students and to establish evaluation techniques for assessment of progress, as well as participate in extracurricular activities.
Background Check:
The Department of Rehabilitation Services will conduct a criminal background check on new hires as part of an offer of employment that is made contingent upon a successful criminal background check.

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education of the deaf, State of Oklahoma Teacher’s Certificate or qualifications to meet certification. Preference may be given to applicants with expressive and receptive sign language skills with fluency in American Sign Language.
Selective Qualifications:
Expressive and receptive sign language skill with fluency in American Sign Language.
