Correctional Teacher II

Salary:  Statutory – based on education and experience

BASIC PURPOSE:
Positions within this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing professional teaching work at the elementary or secondary level in a correctional institution or facility; applies special methods and techniques in the habilitation of inmates.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS:
The Correctional Teacher job family consists of two levels which are distinguished by type and complexity of work and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others.

Level I:    
This is the leadership level where incumbents are responsible for performing advanced level educational work that is complex and difficult.  Responsibilities also include functioning as a lead worker with limited supervisory duties.  There is only one position at each institution or facility at this level.

Education and experience requirements at this level consist of a master’s degree in education and possession of a current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
