OMES is seeking a full time Quality Specialist for the Information Services Division. This is an unclassified position in state government, located in Oklahoma City. OMES offers a comprehensive Benefits Package, including a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.  For more information about the benefit allowance [click here]. The OMES Quality Assurance Team is looking for bright, adaptable, individuals to become part of the QA Modernization Plan to implement standard testing processes and Test Automation Frameworks across all projects, enabling the QA team to automate repeatable manual testing tasks. The primary responsibility of the Quality Specialist is the implementation of quality assurance and quality control. This is to be implemented across a variety of technical services related to providing information services and support for management information systems within a state agency or institution.

Position Responsibilities
• Prepare and execute testing strategies and automated and manual test plans for client/server applications.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional teams in development and project activities.
• Participate in continuous training in order to improve quality and productivity within the Quality Assurance team.
• Contribute towards defining Test Automation Strategy to implement automation of manual testing tasks across all project TMS.
• Assist in identifying and automating manual test cases where appropriate.
• Plan and execute non-functional tests.
• Assist in implement and manage continuous automated testing integration using Azure DevOps.
• Attend daily project stand-up sessions and represent QA in release planning, to ensure balanced, low-risk distribution of testing tasks throughout the iteration.
• Perform functional, regression, UI, and unit testing for all the new features in cross browser settings and mobile devices. Coordinate and test new applications, databases or systems operations, and create results reports
• Identify failures to meet quality standards through testing, assessing issue severity and escalating as appropriate, maintaining ownership through to resolution.
• Develop a sound business understanding ensuring tests are defined and developed, with close alignment to the business use of the system.
• Keep project team members and manager regularly informed of progress on testing, and of any risk to meeting release timelines or quality standards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
• This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements include 60 semester hours toward a degree; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in Information Technology for each year of the required education.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess
• Proven experience in software development quality assurance, QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with Agile project management methodology.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing test automation in functional, acceptance, load, regression, and integration testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools is preferred.
• Experience with load testing is preferred.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver (JavaScript preferred); knowledge of testing frameworks and assertion libraries (like Mocha and Chai); experience integrating automated tests in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline (Azure DevOps preferred).
• Experience testing APIs with tools like Postman; experience using variables and chaining API requests with tools like Postman; experience integrating API tests in a CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience with tools, such as Postman or SoapUI, used to interact with SOAP and REST APIs.
• Ability to write basic SQL queries to verify test outcomes.
• Accessibility compliance testing.
