JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision and in accordance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations of the State Board of Education, serve as the Program Manager for the Oklahoma West Project Aware. In conjunction with the Executive Director of AWARE to oversee the goals, activities, and requirements of the Oklahoma Project Aware grant. Assist in the implementation of State Department of Education initiatives and applicable legislation; make recommendations for change; and perform related duties as assigned.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is funded through a federally awarded grant that will expire on September 30, 2023. It is the goal of the Oklahoma State Department of Education to apply for additional funding opportunities as they become available.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, School Psychology, Public Health, or a closely related field [official transcript(s) required].;
• Possession of a valid Oklahoma certificate in School Counseling, Elementary Education, Early Childhood, School Psychology, Education/Administration or closely related field.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• LPC, LCSW, or LADC licensure.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal school laws, rules, and regulations;
• Considerable knowledge of modern education techniques, methods and practices, current trends, and sources of information in the field of education;
• Considerable knowledge of mental health interventions and prevention programs, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS); proactive behavioral interventions and positive behavioral supports;
• Strong communication and organizational skills;
• Ability to lead and direct the work of others; to establish and maintain effective relationships with fellow employees, school officials and the general public; to express facts and opinions clearly and concisely; to engage in several projects simultaneously;
• Commitment to teamwork, consensus management and participatory decision-making processes; commitment and willingness to provide courteous, consistent, efficient service through the performance of the prescribed job duties;
• This position requires the skill of presenting to large audiences and knowledge of effective distribution of information to schools through such avenues as creating and implementing video conference workshops, webinars, one-on-one district service trainings, and professional development.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Consult with the OK AWARE Program Manager at the ODMHSAS on a regular basis to provide updates on the OK Project Aware goals and objectives.

Less than 20% travel. Some overnight travel required

SALARY:
$62,000/YEAR
