Position location: Oklahoma School for the Deaf – Chickasha Pre-School

Position is located at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf Chickasha Pre-School location. Position is responsible for providing assistance to students in a group setting or on an individual basis. Duties include assisting teaching staff with special instructions; supervising playground and extra-curricular activities. Assigned Shift: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Probationary period (or trial period if applicable) is required.
Preferred Qualifications: American Sign Language Skills.

Positions in this job family provide assistance to teaching staff in standard academic or commercial subjects, and to students in daily classroom activities or daily living skills in a state school, hospital, facility or institution.
This job family consists of only one level and employees are responsible for performing all functions involving assisting teachers and students in daily classroom activities and in daily living skills. In this role, they will provide assistance to teaching staff by supervising student activities, distributing learning material to students, and preparing absentee reports and grading routine test papers. They will also provide assistance to students in basic living skills, with daily work assignments and in setting up assisted-learning equipment required by students.
Education and Experience : None Required.
Some positions with the Department of Rehabilitation Services require proficiency in American Sign Language.
