Position is located at the Central Oklahoma Juvenile center in Tecumseh OK.

This will be a Working Supervisor position which duties will include:
-Supervision and management of the Recreation department
-Regular facilitation of Unit recreation activities
-Facilitation of incentive activities
-Oversight of routine monthly responsibilities such as inventories, training, staff schedules, recreation schedules, treatment plan staffing
-Development of the programing and increased use of the various resources and equipment
- Planned use of recreational activities to target individual treatment needs that have been identified such as Self-confidence, Accepting authority, Peer conflicts, Social skills, Anger management
-Participation in more programs department planning meetings and monthly facility development such as PbS, Risk Management and ACA standards
All OJA’s employees must pass a background check and drug screening.
Position requires shift work and willingness to perform all job related travel.
Prefer candidates that are willing to become certified within six months of appoints in the following: Life Guard.
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for planning, organizing, directing and conducting client therapy programs and instruct or supervise clients in recreational activities as part of a therapeutic psychiatric or medical treatment program.
The Recreation Therapist job family consists of four levels of work which are distinguished by the depth and breadth of accountability, the expertise required to perform assigned duties and the responsibility assigned for providing leadership to others.
This is the leadership level where the incumbent organizes, supervises and administers the Recreational Therapy Department, including program staffing and facilities management in a major facility.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a master’s degree in recreational therapy, outdoor recreation or physical education and two years experience in recreational therapy; or a bachelor's degree in recreational therapy, outdoor recreation or physical education and three years experience in recreational therapy; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
