District Two Announcement - Latimer County.

This position is the supervisor in charge of all operations for the county-wide maintenance unit.  This position will manage the daily operations of the unit including the supervision of employees, oversight of assigned work and inspecting roadways, bridges and rights-of-way for needed maintenance.  Prioritizes, plans and sets the projects to be completed, arranges for materials and equipment needed, oversight of work assigned to subordinate employees.  Works with engineers and upper management in determining budges, equipment and personnel needs for the county unit.  Represents the Department to the public, responding appropriately to public requests and inquiries.  Should be able to compute material quantities for projects. Responsible for ensuring that unit is performing the assigned duties with employees and public safety in mind..

The Transportation Superintendent job family consists of two levels and incumbents are responsible for performing supervisory and management tasks for one or more maintenance units, sign shop, or a turnpike.

Level II :

This is the management level of the Transportation Superintendent family and incumbents are responsible for performing management and supervisory tasks for two or more specialized traffic crews, central sign shop, a county district, an interstate maintenance crew, a turnpike, or a heavy maintenance crew.


Level II:
Education and Experience requirements consist of six years of experience in operating transportation equipment.
