This is an unclassified, term-limited position.  Per 10A O.S. § 2-7-202: Effective June 1, 2020, employees hired for service at the Southwest Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Manitou shall be considered unclassified and employed in a term-limited appointment. If state services continue at the facility after the designated term, the employee may be transferred into a non-term-limited position.

'This position is a safety sensitive position as defined by 63 O.S. § 427.8 (K)(1)(i)(2) due to providing direct child care. Therefore, those applicants testing positive for marijuana will not be hired even when in possession of a valid medical marijuana license.'

Description of position
Responsible for providing effective individual, group and family case management in the area of addiction with juveniles and their families with addiction problems.  Conducts professional screenings, assessments and intake referrals to include but not limited to the diagnosed juvenile and their family.

Duties
Conducts professional screenings, assessments and intake referrals to include but not limited to the diagnosed juvenile and their family.  Maintains clinical record documentation and services in compliance with accreditation standards.

Describe knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge of the dynamics of alcohol/drug related problems and their impact upon juveniles and their families.  Social factors involved in substance abuse and the principles and techniques of rehabilitation counseling and their application to juveniles possessing chemical dependencies.

Describe education and experience
Completion of two courses in psychology, social work, chemical dependency or substance abuse at the college level and two years of experience in counseling alcohol/drug abuse patients in a recognized alcohol/drug treatment, rehabilitation or counseling program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting the completion of two additional college level courses in psychology, social work, chemical dependency or substance abuse for a maximum of one year of qualifying experience.

Special requirements:
Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
Applicants must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position, possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license at time of appointment.
