Salary: Biweekly salary for this position is $1760.76 (depending on education and experience)

This position serves as the Office Manager of the State Board of Behavioral Health Licensure and includes a wide range of consultative duties and responsibilities in three statewide license programs - Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marital & Family Therapist, and Licensed Behavioral Practitioner.   It will be recognized as the office manager and finance consultant for Behavioral Health Licensing with numerous responsibilities mandated by statute relative to core public mental health providers on a statewide basis. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Supervise administrative staff.  
• Create, maintain, and oversee contracts working closely with the Office of Management Enterprise Systems (OMES).   
• Evaluate staffing needs to ensure an adequately trained and competent staff is available to perform licensing functions.
• Maintain systems to adequately track licensing functions and compliance with statutes and rules. 
• Attend Board meetings and maintain Board meeting minutes.
• Prepare, review, and report on budget and financial issues, including cabinet secretary requests, requisitions, purchase orders, and financial reconciliation working closely with OMES.
• Perform all administrative duties as needed to ensure the office is functioning.

Education and Work Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of professional supervisory, managerial, consultative or administrative experience in public health, public administration, business, licensing, or guidance and counseling; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional level experience in the above listed areas for each year of the required education.

Preference may be given to those with direct experience in counselor licensing and state government.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The KSAs required at this level include:
Knowledge of state laws and rules relative to Behavioral Health Licensing programs in order to meet licensure requirements; skills in planning, coordinating and evaluating the activities of the program areas; and skills in applying supervisory principles and practices.

Also required is the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and to supervise and evaluate personnel and program performance. Ability is required to analyze and solve complex and difficult problems of organization and management; and to present current, concise and up-to-date information concerning the programs within the State Board of Behavioral Health Licensure.

Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office programs is required. 

Preference may be given to those with Thentia operating systems knowledge.

The State Board of Behavioral Health Licensure is tobacco free.  Employees are prohibited from using tobacco products throughout all indoor and outdoor areas of premises under the control of the Behavioral Health Licensure Board, in all vehicles on those premises, and in state vehicles in use for Behavioral Health business anywhere.  Travel may be required in your own vehicle.
