The Capital and Assets Management (CAM) Division of OMES is seeking a full time Mechanical Systems Technician. This is an unclassified position in state government, located in Oklahoma City.  OMES offers a comprehensive Benefits Package, including a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.  For more information about the benefit allowance [click here]. The annual salary for this position is up to $42,883.00 based on experience.

This position is responsible for providing mechanical systems technical support at the State Capitol building, including the operation and maintenance of building automation systems, HVAC, and management of work order review and execution.  

Position Responsibilities
*Troubleshoot, repair, and install heat pumps in the State Capitol building, including preventive and diagnostic maintenance.
*Respond to trouble calls and diagnose problems within twenty-four hours.
*Operate building automation systems, which includes monitoring for proper function, resetting units when locked out, and weekly checks to ensure effective operation.*
*Utilize electronic work order management system (AIM) to review, update, and assign daily tasks in a timely and accurate manner. 
*Maintain inventory log for all equipment pertaining to the State Capitol building HVAC system.  
*Provide support to other buildings operated and maintained by DCAM as needed. 
*Provide support in the alteration of heating and air conditioning systems as well as supervise others in the installation, maintenance, and repair of such systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma, GED, or technical vocation training in applicable areas of service, and 2 years’ experience in servicing mechanical systems; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preference may be given to candidates who possess or have the ability to obtain licensing in the following areas:
Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration with the OK State Department of Health, Construction and Industries Board.  

Possess certification card for refrigerant recovery and recycling in accordance with Section 609 of the Federal Clean Air Act of 1990.

Possess mechanical journeyman’s license.
