The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (ODEMHS) prepares for, responds to, recovers from and mitigates against disasters and emergencies.  The department maintains the State Emergency Operations Center which serves as a command center for reporting emergencies and coordinating state response activities.  ODEMHS also maintains, regularly updates and exercises the State Emergency Operations Plan.  ODEMHS Delivers service to Oklahoma cities, towns and counties through the network of more than 400 local emergency managers.

ODEMHS processes on behalf of Oklahoma federal relief funds, providing program, accounting, budget and other administrative oversight for federal programs and partners.  In addition ODEMHS supports external auditors, internal compliance staff and FEMA auditors.

Responsibilities include processing applications and projects for state and federal grant programs; ensuring fiscal and program compliance of federal and state grants are adhered to; monitoring, analyzing and maintaining financial and program transactions for a specific emergency management program; tracking and processing jurisdiction’s reporting, applications, closeouts, withdrawals and reimbursement requests.

INTERNSHIPS/PART TIME POSITIONS
ODEMHS is looking to hire year round part time college interns OR part time experts for the following areas:

Grants Specialists
Responsibilities include processing applications and projects for state and federal grant programs; ensuring fiscal and program compliance of federal and state grants are followed; monitoring, analyzing and maintaining financial and program transactions for a specific emergency management program; tracking, reconciling and processing jurisdiction’s reporting, applications, closeouts, withdrawals and reimbursement requests.

Minimum Qualifications for interns:
Currently enrolled in a Degree Program: Must be a current student with at least 12 hours of college credit working toward a degree in  business, accounting, MIS, finance, public administration, emergency management or urban planning or other related business degree program.

Schedule:  20 hours per week/999 Hours per year
Program Dates:  Year Round
Work Location:  Work will be telework (Work from home)
Hours:  Flexible (will work with school schedules within normal working hours)
