OMES is seeking a full time Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Security Engineer. This is an unclassified position in state government, located in Oklahoma City. The annual salary for this position is up to $85,000.00 based on education and experience.

The objective of the VDI Security Engineer position is to provide technical proficiency and to manage the enterprise Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) service. The Virtual Desktop Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, configuring and supporting virtual endpoints distributed in our environment. This role will also create and follow Security and industry best practices, processes and procedures, including documentation and testing standards before deployment.

Position Responsibilities
• Design, implement and support a standardized endpoint management solution across the enterprise and manage Window devices
• Deliver modernized plan that ensure endpoints are kept current on OS, Driver, Patch, and Firmware
• Work closely with the IT Security Team to ensure adherence to security requirements
• Packages and deploys software and security updates to endpoints
• Automation of normal, repetitive tasks via scripting and/or remote deployment methods
• Create, update, and troubleshoot Windows OS images for deployment
• Monitors for and remediates deviations from configuration standards
• Monitors system availability and troubleshoots and resolves connectivity interruptions
• Recommending and implementing policies and standards and ensuring adherence to security procedures
• Auditing and reporting of hardware and software inventory
• Research and resolve a wide variety of technical issues and participate/lead problem resolution efforts
• Identifies opportunities to improve IT services and, in collaboration with the team, executes on those opportunities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Create and update technical documentation as it relates to endpoint management
• Create, document and follow testing standards using industry best practices
• Follow standard change control processes
• Helps lead research and develop new technology, tools and scripts to support desktop computing and the end-user desktop experience

Minimum Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field or documented equivalent experience
• A minimum of six (6) years of information technology/security related experience or an equivalent combination of both
• Extensive knowledge and/or prior experience with Microsoft SCCM, Endpoint Manager, inTune, AutoPilot, and Jamf
• Versed in Microsoft VDI Solution
• Thorough understanding of Microsoft SCCM, Endpoint Manager and inTune
• Understanding of Active Directory, including replication, GPO and DNS
• Able to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Maintain, update and troubleshoot workstation images and task sequences within SCCM
• Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details

Preference will be given to candidates who possess
• Security experience is desirable or any security certification
• 3 - 6 years of experience in utilizing endpoint management tools and systems
• Experience with one or more scripting technologies: PowerShell, Python, SQL, Windows Batch
• Experienced knowledge of VDI environments and the continued operation of a large scale VDI deployment
• Ability to support projects for security role design, development, implementation and modifications
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel
