Clinical Compliance Assistant Programs Administrator

This is a Full-time Unclassified position

Incumbents are assigned responsibilities which include assisting the compliance department providing oversight and guidance to staff to ensure direct care to our residents is delivered in with all licensure standards, regulatory standards, policies and procedures.

•Performs general quality assurance duties including but not limited to chart reviews, onsite inspection, spot training, formal training, reporting, and trend analysis.
•Maintains currency on knowledge base of long-term care industry matters relating to legal compliance and best practices for provision of direct care.
•Assists and advises the planning, organization and direction of all professional and nonprofessional nursing services required to provide care to the residents on a 24 hours basis.
•Reviews internal and external policies and forms for compliance with statutes, regulations, public health guidance, and direction from management.  Drafts proposed guidance, forms, or policies or revises existing guidance, forms, or policies as needed.
•Reviews overall nursing service schedules/reported hours to ensure adequate staff; reviews incident reports/283 reports for required documentation and proper reporting processes.
•Provides in-service to staff on equipment, products, medications, paperwork and job duties as needed to insure proper implementation.  Provides in-service to staff on correct procedure in ordering medication.  Keeps abreast of new developments in the field and disseminates information to staff.  Attends all required training and in-services.
•Provides assistance to the compliance department in up-dating the P/P manuals, handbooks, and other protocols as requested.
•Assists in the maintenance of all necessary records and reports of and for nursing services, including printing of requested records.
•Serves as primary or backup agency systems administrator for electronic health records system, Point Click Care, and other related systems as needed.
•Performs chart audits and detailed review and analysis of electronic health records in Point Click Care and any other records systems.  Reports findings orally and/or in writing to the agency lead for Clinical Compliance and other members of agency leadership.
•Assists with reviews of estimates of needs in physical facilities, medical supplies, repairs, equipment and personnel for the nursing department operations and functions.
•Performs related work as required and assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of professional nursing theory practices and techniques; of medical supplies; of sanitation and personal hygiene; of nutrition and diet therapy; of institution or school organization; and of budget, personnel and purchasing procedures.  Proficiency in computer software utilized in the agency.

Education and Experience:
Possession of a current valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse (RN) as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to practice professional nursing and four (4) years of professional nursing experience, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity at a level equivalent to a shift supervisor; or a bachelor’s degree in nursing and three (3) years of professional nursing experience, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity at a level equivalent to shift supervisor; or a master’s degree in nursing and two (2) years of professional nursing experience in a supervisory capacity at a level equivalent to shift supervisor.  Two (2) years of experience with electronic health records system (preferably Point Click Care) with configuration experience is strongly preferred. Experience in long-term care is preferred but not required.
