This position is located in the Criminalistics Services Division at the Forensic Science Center in Edmond, OK.

This is a Grant Funded Limited Term position established in the unclassified service.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1.Interact directly with victims and families who have experienced violent crimes.  Inform them of their rights.  Identify needs of victims.  Coordinate appropriate services.
2.Facilitate, coordinate, and/or host OSBI Victim’s Support Program meetings, Victim Symposiums and follow-up meetings for victims and families.
3.Strengthen the OSBI’s program by networking with other programs.  Attend meetings of other support service programs.  Relay information to OSBI members.
4.Educate OSBI Agents, Criminalists and key staff about the OSBI Victim’s Support Program.  Develop and administer an evaluation tool for attendees of training to ensure that information received is understood.
5.Develop, collect and distribute appropriate materials to inform victims of services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Preference will be given to individuals who have training/experience working with victims as an Advocate, Social Worker, etc.

Successful applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (commissioned positions only), and a thorough background investigation.  Certain events automatically disqualify an applicant, such as, felony conviction; admission of an undetected crime that, if known, would have been a felony charge; failure to pay federal or state income tax; positive confirmed drug urine test; illegal use of a controlled substance within certain time frames.
