Director of Nursing

Working Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm M-F

Primary Work Location: Northwest Center for Behavioral Health, Fort Supply Acute Care Unit

Salary: $31.54 Hourly/ $5,466.67 Monthly/ $65,600+ Annually

Major Work Duties:
Be part of our mission, promoting healthy communities and providing the highest quality care to enhance the well-being of all Oklahomans.  Treatment philosophy is trauma-informed, co-occurring, person-centered, and recovery-oriented in nature.  The Director of Nursing administers the nursing program at Northwest Center for Behavioral Health to maintain accreditation standards of patient care.  The Director of Nursing is responsible for the operation of the nursing service, including determining the types and numbers of nursing personnel and staff necessary to provide nursing care for all areas of the hospital. The Director of Nursing assumes an active leadership role in the hospital’s decision-making structure and process.  Advises in matters related to nursing services, establishes goals and objectives of the nursing program, and monitors quality assurance standards, policies and procedures.  Recommends and approves the selection, transfer, promotion, discipline and other transactions related to personnel.  Conducts staff meetings, direct orientations, and in-service trainings for nursing staff.  Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to its objectives and cost.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Possession of a valid permanent OK Registered Nurse license as approved by the OK State Board of Nursing; a Master’s in Business or Public Administration, a Mental Health or Health related field, or a Nursing related field; three (3) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse performing professional psychiatric nursing; and three (3) years’ experience in an administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity; OR possession of a valid permanent OK Registered Nurse license as approved by the OK State Board of Nursing; a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a Mental Health or Health related field, or a Nursing related field; four (4) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse performing professional psychiatric nursing; and three (3) years’ experience in an administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity; OR possession of a valid permanent OK Registered Nurse license as approved by the OK State Board of Nursing; six (6) years’ experience as a registered nurse performing professional psychiatric nursing; and three (3) years’ experience in an administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity.    

Additional Factors for Consideration
Preference may be  given to applicants who possess a postgraduate degree in nursing or a related field, which may include health care administration or business administration.    Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.
