The Oklahoma Water Resources Board is seeking to fill an Environmental Specialist position in its Planning and Management Division, Technical Studies. Selected applicant will assist OWRB technical personnel in conducting groundwater studies and technical support for the Water Rights Section and the Comprehensive Water Plan. 

Salary: Range from $41,200-46,750/year. Salary will be based on education, experience, and availability.

Location of Work: 3800 North Classen Boulevard, Oklahoma City, OK  73118.

Description of Skills and Work Duties:
Strong field investigation, customer service, analytical skills, and knowledge of hydrogeologic, geologic, and hydrologic principles are required. Strong writing skills and knowledge of Microsoft© suite, GPS equipment, and ArcGIS is required. Knowledge of water rights, Oklahoma groundwater law, and surface water field work is preferred. Field work, with some travel, is required.

Examples of job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
*Conduct hydrogeologic studies, such as the Blaine Gypsum and Vamoosa-Ada aquifer studies, which entails research; analysis, interpretation, and management of ground and surface water data; computer modeling; and recommendations.
*Collect and review hydrologic field data such as depth-to-water measurements, stream flow measurements, GPS positions, collecting data from continuous data recorders, performing slug tests, and maintaining equipment.
*Provide technical assistance regarding the State’s water rights and resources in response to requests from agency staff, other agencies, the legislature, and the public.
*Write and review technical reports, memos, and letters.
*Utilize ArcGIS, groundwater well logs, and water permits to research water issues, generate maps and update GIS shape files.
*Manage hydrologic data using Microsoft Access and Excel and create report ready figures and tables using programs like Grapher and Excel
*Preparing for and presenting educational and public outreach sessions.
