OMES is seeking a full time Executive Assistant. This is an unclassified position in state government, located in Oklahoma City.  OMES offers a comprehensive Benefits Package, including a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.  For more information about the benefit allowance [click here]. The annual salary for this position is up to $50,000 based on education and experience.

The Executive Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and technical clerical support for the State Purchasing Director and Senior Staff members.

Position Responsibilities
• Creates general correspondences and agency memos. Performs desktop publishing and creates and develops presentations as requested.
• Creates and maintains confidential and complex files and spreadsheets for the Director and senior staff.
• Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing various types of information.
• Drafts written responses or replies by phone or e-mail when necessary. Responds to regularly occurring requests for information.
• Acts as a liaison with other divisions and outside agencies, including high-level staff such as Agency Directors and Consultants. Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies, department rules, regulations and laws when necessary.
• Processes invoices, payments, purchase orders and other fiscal duties as assigned.
• Represents the department, agency, supervising official, or program area at meetings, conferences, or civic organizations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the work day. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.  Occasional travel may be required.


•Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration or closely related field and 2 years of experience in a secretarial, clerical or office assistant position.
•An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
