Location: Oklahoma School for the Deaf- Sulphur
Essential Functions:
Position is responsible for providing learning experiences by utilizing school curriculum, IEP goals and objectives and other appropriate materials and activities. Duties including preparing lesson plans, reports, and keeping records of student behavior and attitude needed, to provide an orderly productive classroom environment; ascertain learning needs of students and to establish evaluation techniques for assessment of progress, as well as participate in extracurricular activities.
Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education of the deaf, State of Oklahoma Teacher’s Certificate or qualifications to meet certification. Prefer Master’s Degree.
Selective Qualifications: An expressive and receptive sign language skill with fluency in American Sign Language.
Salary:
Annual salary is commensurate with education and years of experience; Bachelor’s degree: $38,431.05 to $52,551.45; Master’s, $41,106.45 - $55,810.64. Employees are provided paid health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the State’s tax-deferred annuity program. This will be a 180-day per year, contracted position.
Veteran’s preference points apply only for initial appointment in the classified service.
