Introduction

This position is located in the Field Services Unit within the Information Services Division in Oklahoma City.

MAJOR WORK DUTIES:
1.Serve as liaison to law enforcement agencies within assigned region or program; Provides system information and demonstrations for both SIBRS and ODIS.  Coordinates installation, updates and technical assistance for ODIS/SIBRS user agencies.
2.Plan, coordinate, and conduct individual and group classroom training of law enforcement personnel in the requirements of crime reporting procedures and techniques such as SIBRS, ODIS, and UCR Summary as required. 
3.Performs data quality reviews for all monthly Uniform Crime Reports for assigned agencies.
4.Process IBR to UCR Summary conversion reports.

Successful applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (commissioned positions only), and a thorough background investigation.  Certain events automatically disqualify an applicant, such as, felony conviction; admission of an undetected crime that, if known, would have been a felony charge; failure to pay federal or state income tax; positive confirmed drug urine test; illegal use of a controlled substance within certain time frames.

BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to providing training and assistance to law enforcement agencies and officials in the proper reporting of criminal arrests and activity and the maintenance of required records.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

The Crime Reporting Field Representative job family consists of three levels which are distinguished by the type and complexity of work, and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others.

Level I:     
This is the basic level of this job family where incumbents perform entry-level work in a training capacity to build their skills in providing assistance to law enforcement agencies in meeting crime reporting requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level I:   
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in crime reporting, in the field of law enforcement, public relations or data collection, auditing, and reporting for each year of the required education.

NOTE:  Data collection, auditing, and reporting experience should include: gathering data from different sources, ensuring the data is accurate and complete, and preparing a written report concerning that data for submission to a higher authority.
