Basic Purpose:
Positions in this job are responsible for the data conversion of various databases into a single, vendor defined, database; and establishing practices and creating opportunities for enhanced data availability and preservation.

Typical Functions:
• Assists in the creation of a data conversion plan
• Creates queries/scripts/extracts/reports to identify bad or missing data and assists in the correction when necessary
• Maps data from legacy systems to new architecture
• Recommends data fixes as data patterns, anomalies, and errors are encountered
• Assesses the relationship between bad data and existing business processes
• Triages data-related issues
• Monitors, refines, and reports on the performance of data and existing business processes.
• Creates extracts/views/web services to collect, store, and preserve data for reporting and analysis
• Evaluates requests from internal and external stakeholders; analyzes information requirements to determine data availability and production capabilities
• Implements measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
• Develops reports and ad hoc queries as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of data collection and reporting. Knowledge of, and skill in, the use and application of appropriate technology. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally an in writing; to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to organize and present complex material in a clear and concise manner.

Statutorily Required:  N/A

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a computer or mathematical science, social science, or public administration and two (2) years of experience in data analysis or report writing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  
Bachelor’s degree in a computer or mathematical science, social science, or public administration and five (5) years of experience in data analysis or report writing.

Prior work experience with SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services is preferred.
