Introduction

Location:  Oklahoma School for the Blind – Muskogee, OK

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing confidential secretarial duties for an agency official or administrator.

Essential Functions:
Position is secretary to the Superintendent and is responsible for preparing letters, memos, and OSB forms, teacher contracts and composing routine correspondence. Answers telephone, provides information on services related to blind and visually impaired students, or refer calls to appropriate staff; open/sort/distribute incoming/outgoing mail and maintain Superintendent’s inventory. Arrange appointments/conferences, Superintendent’s calendar, travel itineraries, travel claims/expenses.

Applicant must be willing to perform all job related travel.

Probationary period (or trial period if applicable) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a school setting; working with Wen-GAGE (SIS-Student Information System); working with teacher contracts, OSDE State and Federal reporting; Central/superintendent Office experience.

BASIC PURPOSE

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

Level V:
At this level employees perform confidential secretarial work for an assistant or associate director of an agency; and may direct the work of other technical/clerical employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level V:  
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of six years of clerical office work, including three years as an office manager, executive assistant or as a confidential secretary, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
