This position is located in the Materials Division in Oklahoma City.

Job Duties:
Perform the duties of the Structural Materials Branch Manager for the Materials Division.  The successful candidate will perform the duties of Supervisor for the Physical Laboratory, Fabrication Section and Fabrication Consultants. 

Provide and coordinate the training and certification of branch personnel for all testing activities related to AASHTO re:source, CCRL, SiteManager, ASTM and OHDL test procedures. 

Oversee the repair, maintenance, and calibration of equipment used in the Structural Materials Branch.  Respond to questions and coordinate with both Field and Office Divisions, Construction Residencies, Consultants and Local Governments with expert knowledge, testing, and provide any needed assistance.   Represent ODOT for the Materials Division by attending and providing technical assistance to various committees within ODOT and on a national level, such as with AASHTO NTPEP and the National Concrete Consortium.  This position will also assist the Materials Engineer and the Assistant Materials Engineer with the management of the Division and handle any duties as assigned.

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibility for overall management of a staff of engineers, technicians and other personnel who are responsible for providing engineering expertise, guidance and technical assistance to state agencies, consultants, and the public.  They are differentiated from lower levels in the Professional Engineer job family in that their focus is on broader supervisory and management issues including planning, organizing, and integrating the functions that report to them.


Level II:     
This is the management level where incumbents are typically responsible for the management of an engineering work unit.


Level II:     
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of registration as a Professional Engineer and one year of supervisory experience in a professional engineering related field.
