Job Duties: 
This position serves as the Roadway Design Division's Quality Assurance Branch Manager. The Quality Assurance Manager position plays a key role in the plan production process.

This position requires proficient knowledge in the plan production process, the skill to track commonly made errors and omissions, and the ability to keep the design teams aware of common errors and ways to avoid them. They need to have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to train and mentor subordinate employees.They also need to have the ability to communicate with consultants, other Roadway Design Division employees and other ODOT division staff about quality control topics. This position will approve A9s, leave requests and conduct performance evaluations on subordinate employees. They will also mentoring subordinate employees in design plan review, maintaining design calculation technical material and assisting the Roadway Design Assistant Division Manager in the day to day operations of the division.

BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are responsible for performing various levels of transportation management duties.  This may include supervision of a staff of professional, technical and support personnel involved in planning, construction, design, right-of-way or aerial survey activities, or maintenance of various types of transportation systems.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

The Transportation Manager job family has five levels which are distinguished based on the level of supervisory/management responsibility, scope of responsibility, complexity and breadth of function, and degree of autonomy with which the position is permitted to function.

Level II:     
At this level incumbents are responsible for performing supervisory or advanced transportation management work.  Incumbents may serve as a resident transportation manager or may direct a transportation branch within the Department of Transportation or Oklahoma Transportation Authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level II:    
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in technical engineering, planning, or transportation management, plus one additional year of qualifying experience in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education.

NOTE:  No substitution may be made for the required supervisory experience.
