Job Description, essential functions:
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to providing direct/indirect casework services to children/adults with developmental disabilities and their families. This is the leadership level and is responsible for providing direct supervision to lower-level staff. This level is assigned direct supervisory responsibilities: interview/hire case managers, administer in-service training programs for staff/professionals.

Job description, marginal functions:
Supervises (8) and provides training to lower level case management staff who manages complex case loads providing services to persons with disabilities

Preference Statement:
Preference may be given to candidates with Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field plus 4 years of professional qualifying experience.

BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to providing direct and indirect casework services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

This job family consists of four levels which are distinguished by the level of complexity and diversity of the specific job assignments, the extent or responsibility assigned for each level, the expertise required for the completion of duties assigned, and the responsibility assigned for providing leadership to others.

Level IV:
This is the leadership level where employees are responsible for providing direct supervision to lower-level staff. Employees at this level are assigned direct supervisory responsibilities; will interview and hire case managers; administer inservice training programs for staff and professional providers and complete performance evaluations.  Additional duties at this level include monitoring and reviewing casework of Level I or Level II case managers; participating in the ongoing development of division and program policies and procedures, including the implementation and evaluation of pilot programs; completing special reports; and communication policy changes to staff, and completing fair hearing/appeals review as per DHS policy and Office of Client Advocacy Investigations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level IV:
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in a human services field* and four years of professional experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities in social work, case management, special education, psychology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing or a closely related field; or a bachelor’s degree in a human services field* and four years of professional experience in social work, case management, special education, psychology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing or a closely related field and one year experience working  with persons with intellectual disabilities; or possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to practice professional nursing and four  years of professional nursing experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities.

*For purposes of the Case Manager job family “a bachelor’s degree in a human services field includes any degree from an accredited college or university except for a degree in a physical, natural or biological science or mathematics.
