This position is located at Joint Force Headquarters-J6 section in Oklahoma City, OK.

This is a full-time unclassified state position with full state retirement and insurance benefits, including paid health, dental, life, and disability insurance for the employee. The employee receives a benefit allowance to assist with insurance cost.  Annual leave of 10 hours per month and sick leave of 10 hours per month begin accruing immediately.

Day-to-day management and operation of DLCs, to include support as needed to test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and otherwise ensure availability of the DLC IT infrastructure to achieve The Adjutant General’s (TAG) training readiness objectives for assigned State and Federal missions. 

Basic Purpose: 
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing highly technical work in providing computer services and office automation support related to implementing and maintaining computer systems, local area networks, client workstations, network components, ongoing monitoring, maintenance and administration of computer operating systems, troubleshooting of local and wide area networks, software installation & maintenance, creation and removal of user accounts, network access rights and maintenance of other automation equipment and devices as needed.  In this role, incumbents are assigned technical responsibilities involving the implementation and maintenance of various types of computer systems and related equipment and software.

Duties include providing assistance and training to users, identifying and resolving problems related to the network, applications and software, coordinating and supporting automation systems for specific program areas, performing regular maintenance on computer equipment, printers and other devices, and serving as a liaison between users and the Information Technology Division and the Distributed Learning Program as required. 

Essential Functions:
• Analyze and troubleshoot problems with applications, software and client workstations, servers, network components, office automation equipment and devices, and related systems and devices
• Identifies causes and resolves technical problems; coordinates with Information Technology Division as needed
• Evaluates adequacy of system hardware and software to meet present and future user needs;  assists in the defining of new hardware standards for the organization
• Maintains client workstations, regularly executes disk scans to check for file, folder or disk errors; defragments hard drives for optimum performance; performs virus scans and cleans peripherals, such as monitors, keyboard, and mouse; coordinates network/mainframe security requests
• Participates in testing and implementing new applications and software; develops instructional guides or provides group or individual user training as needed; assists users in the operation and application of available equipment and network systems
• Serves as a specialist in the various electronic systems utilized for various program areas; makes recommendations regarding training and equipment needed for office automation; maintains security of computer identifications and/or passwords
• Produces reports as needed; and transports or delivers documents or equipment
• Participates in workshops, seminars, conferences and other training on computer systems, networks and office automation devices; keeps abreast of current technology and improvements
• Assists in the development and placement of new forms and documents on the system
• Prepares letters, memorandums and reports
• Tests new software, hardware or other computer technology
• Provide field support services to Remote Network sites
• Basic Troubleshooting of PC, Audio/Visual, and LAN hardware/software problems and log issues into a Help Desk Tracking Database
• Travel to Remote sites for maintenance, reporting, logging, and additional duties assigned by the Information Support Branch Chief
• Provide Help Desk Support over IDT (Drill weekend) events as needed.  Must participate in an on-call rotational schedule to meet critical/emergency support requests
• Reviews technical manuals, publications and other material to keep up with current technology
• Maintains IT Certifications and CEUs
• Troubleshoots various classroom A/V configurations and works as a technical liaison to keep these systems operational.
• Images, installs, and configures new technical refreshes as warranted.
• Maintains mobile distance learning classrooms via VMWare (vSphere/vCenter) tools and ESXi hypervisor.
• Maintains asset accountability/property functions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
Preferred skills include but are not limited to:
PC, Audio/Visual and Network support experience; experience using and supporting Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook; experience configuring Audio/Visual (AV) and Local Area Networks (LAN); excellent listening and communication skills; self-motivated with strong organizational and teamwork skills; and strong written and verbal communication skills. 

Required skills at this level include knowledge of computer systems, local area networks, office automation software, and related equipment and devices; of computer maintenance requirements and procedures; of data processing concepts and procedures; of data base structures and applications systems; and of modern office administration.  Ability is required to analyze and evaluate computer systems; to  install and maintain computer networks; to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations; to express ideas and facts clearly and effectively; to follow oral and written instructions; knowledge of internal computer operations and technology; of shared networks and systems and alternative computer systems; and of methods to analyze and resolve computer operating systems problems.  Ability is required to review and analyze computer operations; to identify problems and recommend solutions; to develop action plans for assigned tasks; and to analyze, define and resolve software and hardware technical problems. 

Knowledge of VMWare, JIRA, Confluence, Polycom VTC, and Crestron A/V systems are a plus.

Special Requirements:  
Applicants must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.  Requirements at this level consist of the completion of twelve semester hours of computer science or management information systems course work and one year of experience in computer programming or maintaining, configuring and installing operating systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting completion of a vocational or technical training course resulting in certification in computer programming for 12 semester hours only of the required  course work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of experience in information systems operations for 12 semester hours only of the required course work.
No substitution will be permitted for at least 12 semester hours of computer science or management information systems course work and two years of computer programming or experience maintaining, configuring and installing operating systems Requirements consist of one year of experience working with Microsoft Office or a similar product; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Licenses/Certificates required:  
Valid Driver’s License and ONE of the following Certifications:

CompTIA Security+CE    SSCP    CCNA-Security    GSEC
CISSP (or Associate)      CASP    CISA                    GCED

Physical Requirements:
• Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
