This position is located in the Office of Criminal Justice Statistics within the Administration at OSBI Headquarters in Oklahoma City.

ANNUAL SALARY: $36,663.00

This position is established in the Unclassified Service.

JOB DUTIES:
1.Conduct research by collecting, analyzing, and publishing criminal justice data and research findings.
2.Respond to research requests from lawmakers, researchers, and other state and local law enforcement agencies.
3.Prepare written reports of criminal justice data, including bulletins, special reports, crime data briefs, and selected findings; prepare articles for semi-annual newsletters summarizing progress of research projects and other topics related to criminal justice.
4.Assist with other projects as assigned, including identifying research needs of stakeholders and implementing solutions to increase the availability of criminal justice data.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree, which includes nine (9) semester hours in statistics, statistical research methods, economics, demographic or social research statistics.

Successful applicants who are not current employees of the OSBI must be willing to submit to a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (commissioned positions only), and a thorough background investigation.  Certain events automatically disqualify an applicant, such as, felony conviction; admission of an undetected crime that, if known, would have been a felony charge; failure to pay federal or state income tax; positive confirmed drug urine test; illegal use of a controlled substance within certain time frames.
