Major Work Duties:
Interested in working in a dynamic and integrated organization? The Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center (COCMHC) is currently recruiting for a Fire Prevention and Security Officer. The incumbent patrols hospital grounds to safeguard the welfare of property and ensures physical security of an outpatient mental health facility. Other responsibilities include responding to disasters and other emergency conditions and codes. Additionally, this position will assist in directing consumers, visitors, and/or employees with questions or concerns.

Additional Factors for Consideration:
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position, e.g., attend training and etc. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities at a state facility or institution involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security against acts of terrorism for state facilities, employees and the public.  This may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards, providing assistance to employees or visitors, directing traffic and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.  Some positions may be primarily responsible for fire prevention activities and have additional responsibilities assigned for assisting in firefighting activities.
