OMES is seeking a full time Technical Writer. This position is responsible writing documentation for management information systems within a state agency or institution. To include documentation for complex software systems, knowledge articles, technical and end user documentation, training material and operating standards and procedures

Position Responsibilities
• Work closely with information services staff, including project managers, analysts, service desk, and quality assurance staff to successfully deliver assigned documentation projects

• Independently write new documentation based on use cases, user stories, feature requirement documents, specifications, information from developers and product managers, and use of the products

• Proofread and edit documentation to ensure consistency of language and style, as well as correct application of templates

• Proactively research product changes to determine scope of edits for assigned areas of documentation

• Revise documentation to incorporate product updates and product enhancements

• Provide input on documentation design and implementation

• Produce screenshots, flowcharts, swim-lanes, RACI charts, and other graphics

• Attend and actively contribute to writing and scrum team meetings

• Partner with other teams to understand and respond to customer documentation needs

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the work day. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements include 60 semester hours toward a degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in a related field for each year of the required education.
