Positions in this job family are responsible for operating power equipment and performing related tasks in the maintenance and repair of highways.
The Transportation Equipment Operator job family has four levels which are distinguished by the level of the complexity of specific job assignments, the extent of responsibility assigned for a specific task, the level of expertise required for completion of assigned tasks and the responsibility assigned for supervision of others.
This is the leadership level where incumbents are assigned responsibility of a lead worker over a maintenance crew operating power equipment and performing related maintenance and construction tasks. Positions assigned to this level will direct the work as it is being done and provide on-the-job training as required, and evaluate the results of completed work and will perform the most complex duties assigned to the family. Positions at this level may also be assigned responsibility for providing supervision in the absence of the supervisor to a highway maintenance crew.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of four (4) years of experience in operating heavy equipment used in highway construction or maintenance.
Please read instructions carefully and include all required documents when you submit your application.
