Medical Director - Senior Psychiatrist

Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center located in Norman, Oklahoma is currently looking for a Medical Director to join their team! Central Oklahoma Community Mental Health Center (COCMHC) is an established state mental health facility that has provided wonderful outpatient care to the Norman community for over 50 years. With your help and leadership, COCMHC can continue to provide necessary care to those in the community. This position will serve as Medical Director of COCMHC and provide medical supervision and administrative direction to subordinate medical and support staff; develop protocols and standardized procedures; conduct psychiatric evaluations; make diagnosis and prescribe medical and rehabilitative treatment; supervise and direct the medical aspects of treatments; prescribe medications; provide medical supervision to mid-level practitioners. Act as physician member of a multi-disciplinary patient care team; confer with staff and patients and their families regarding diagnosis and treatment; recommend hospitalization or other indicated services; make referrals to specialists as appropriate; may conduct assessments and provide testimony in court proceedings. Provides clinic assessments and crisis interventions for psychiatric emergencies. This position reviews, standardizes and establishes appropriate policy and procedure relative to clinical and medical treatment. Will support and lead efforts to integrate psychiatric services with other COCMHC outpatient programs including the Wellness Center (primary care clinic).
Senior Psychiatrist: Must be licensed to practice Medicine or osteopathy by the State of Oklahoma and be Board Certified. Experience teaching and supervising preferred.
Psychiatrist: Must be licensed to practice Medicine or osteopathy by the State of Oklahoma and be Board Eligible or Board Certified.
