Revenue Compliance Officer, Level III, #246

LOCATION OF WORK:
Compliance Division/Field Collection Services-District I, OK County

MAJOR WORK DUTIES: 
*Provide supervision to section employees by assigning and reviewing work as related to Administrative Collection duties;

*Perform supervisory functions including performance evaluation, making recommendations on disciplinary actions, providing for employee development and approving time off.

BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving the collection of delinquent taxes.  This includes contacting taxpayers concerning overdue tax payments by phone, by mail or in person to advise them of actions being taken, explain the basis for the action, and secure any outstanding liabilities.  It also includes performing audits and adjustments to verify taxes due, conducting examinations and inspections of various records and serving orders to taxpayers whose licenses or permits are canceled.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

The Revenue Compliance Officer job family consists of three levels which are distinguished based on the complexity and diversity of job assignments, the extent of responsibility assigned, and the responsibility assigned for providing leadership to others.

Level III:    
This is the leadership level where employees are assigned responsibilities involving the supervision of others.  This will include planning, directing and coordinating work activities, evaluation of employee’s performance, preparing various administrative and statistical reports and participating in the development of policies and procedures related to various goals and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level III:    
The initial requirements of Revenue Compliance Officer, Level I (consisting of a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in business management, tax revenue, credit collections, or investigative work for each year of the required degree) plus three additional years of qualifying experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
