Introduction

This position is located in Criminalistics Services Division, Administration, located at the OSBI Forensic Science Center in Edmond.

MAJOR WORK DUTIES:
1.Directly assists the Criminalistics Services Division (CSD) Director with administrative assignments in support of the Division, by receiving visitors, answering inquiries personally or referring to appropriate staff, arranging for special conferences/meetings, and various other responsibilities.
2.Assists the Criminalistic Administrators with support tasks such as arranging meetings, scheduling events, and answering phone calls and inquiries.
3.Assists CSD Administration by preparing/editing reports for internal and external customers, compiling research and/or data needed for responses for the legislature, media, or others, managing files related to quality system, and maintaining required documents/files based on accreditation standards, Administrative Code, or statute.
4.Assists the CSD’s BEAST Administrator by interacting directly with customers needing information and/or access to the program.
5.Participates in coordinating responses to discovery requests.

Successful applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (commissioned positions only), and a thorough background investigation.  Certain events automatically disqualify an applicant, such as, felony conviction; admission of an undetected crime that, if known, would have been a felony charge; failure to pay federal or state income tax; positive confirmed drug urine test; illegal use of a controlled substance within certain time frames.

BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing confidential secretarial duties for an agency official or administrator.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

Level IV:
At this level employees perform confidential secretarial work for the administrator of a major service area; may direct the work of other technical/clerical employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level IV:  
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of six years of clerical office work, including three years as an office manager, executive assistant or as a confidential secretary, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
