Fiscal Policy Analyst
Perform tasks involving complex research and analysis related to fiscal operations in all areas of state government.

Staff and coordinate meeting of a subcommittee of the House Appropriations and Budget Committee, coordinate House/Senate subcommittee budget negotiations and serve as staff to the Appropriations and Budget Committee and House standing and special committees as assigned.

Draft appropriation legislation and prepare detailed fiscal impact statements as part of the bill summary document for proposed legislation when the legislation is the property of the House.

Compile and analyze materials for state agency performance and budget reviews.

Calculate a fiscal year budget for assigned agencies and demonstrate the interpersonal, research, analytical and technical skills required to successfully complete the duties of the position.

Perform other policy and budget related duties as may be determined by the Director of the Fiscal Division.

Education & Experience
Completion of the curriculum requirements of a master’s degree, preferably in business administration, finance, political science, economics or public administration, or an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance plus three (3) years experience in budget administration, research and analysis or professional program evaluation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of the state government budget process and the legislative process, and strong interpersonal and writing skills.

Salary will be commensurate to experience.
