OSDH is seeking a full time Emergency Medical Services Administrator II providing support to the Medical Facilities Service. Position Description:
EMS Administrators inspect, investigate, evaluate and assist with the licensure, compliance, and development of EMS agencies and entities within the State.  Additionally, EMS Administrators support and assist in the activities of the States Trauma System.

Travel required.

BASIC PURPOSE

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to planning, organizing, improving and promoting a statewide system of emergency medical services or administering an emergency medical services program in the state, or approved by the state.

LEVEL DESCRIPTORS

The Emergency Medical Services Administrator job family has two levels that are distinguished by their level of clinical licensure of specific job assignments, the extent of responsibility assigned for a specific task, and the level of expertise required for completion of assigned tasks.

Level II:    
At this level incumbents are assigned responsibilities for planning, organizing, improving and promoting all components of a statewide system of emergency medical services to include coordination of emergency medical services with other state agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level II:
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of an possession of a current Oklahoma EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Intermediate, Advanced EMT or Paramedic license and a bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in emergency medical services, including two years of supervisory experience; or obtaining an Oklahoma EMT Intermediate, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic license, within six months of date of hire and a bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in emergency medical services, including two years of supervisory experience;  or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in emergency medical services for each year of the required education.

NOTE:  No substitution will be allowed for the required two years of supervisory experience.  Possession of the current Oklahoma Intermediate, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic license is required to maintain employment.
