OSDH is seeking a full time Cancer Registry Compliance Specialist providing support to Center for Health Statistics. This is an unclassified position (PIN 34001723) in state government, located in Oklahoma City. OSDH offers a comprehensive Benefits Packageincluding a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents. Position Description:  
This position supports the Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry (OCCR).  It is responsible for assuring compliance of all Oklahoma health care facilities in regards to cancer reporting set forth by state law and in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-National Program for Cancer Registries (NPCR) and the North American Association of Central Cancer Registry (NAACCR) standards and practices.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Monitor and work with reporting facilities with compliance as mandated by Federal and State laws
• Conduct case finding and compliance audits.
• Train staff and reporting facilities on current cancer abstraction standards and reporting requirements
• Communicate with reporting facilities and provide technical advice.
• Responsible for collecting and, reviewing, maintaining tumor-specific and demographic information related to each cancer case that is diagnosed and/or treated in different health facilities of the state of Oklahoma.
• Assist with the development of materials for the Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry (OCCR) policy and procedures manual and grant required reports.
• Assist with the preparation of grant required reports such as Interim Progress Report and End of Year Report.
• Provide support to a federally and state legislatively mandated surveillance system.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High school diploma and four (4) years’ experience working with cancer registry data and a current certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR).

Preference will be given to applicants with two or more years’ post certification experience working with cancer registry data.  (CTR)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge and experience in cancer registry operations and functions is preferred; strong communication skills both oral and written; good interpersonal skills; and the ability to be detail oriented.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office setting with a climate controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  This position requires long period of sitting and daily use of computer and phone.
